Interstellar (engl.)

Beschreibung

Interstellar (engl.) is a strategy game for 1 to 6 players aged 14+ with a playing time of 1 hour. Players cooperate and compete aboard the Exodus starship on a century-long interstellar journey, managing risks, technology, and loyalty to survive and earn victory points. The game features a realistic star map and evolving player roles in English only.

The starship Exodus hastily departs a troubled Solar System on a century-long interstellar voyage. Players begin with two heavily augmented teenagers along with frozen human embryos, eggs, and sperm, due to extreme mass limitations. Together, they face risks and challenges cooperatively to survive the journey, while competing to earn the most victory points and ultimately win the game. Interstellar is a stand-alone cooperative-competitive game for 1 to 6 players. It can also serve as a successor to High Frontier when played with Module 4–Exodus and acts as the fifth installment in the evolution of life game series: Bios: Genesis, Bios: Megafauna / Bios: Mesofauna, Bios: Origins, High Frontier 4 All, and Interstellar. Players travel aboard the modular Exodus starship, represented by blueprint placards that degrade over time due to erosion, malfunction, and gray-goo infestation. A large map of nearby stars forms the setting for planning and executing the journey, all grounded in real astronomical data, as in High Frontier. The voyage spans multiple generations, perhaps over 100 years. Players explore star systems, maintain their ship, and develop technologies for mental health, cancer prevention, survival, terraforming, and colonization. One player assumes the role of commander, making key decisions while managing the crew’s loyalty—if the commander loses support, a mutiny may select a new leader. Each turn represents 12 years of time. A market of developments shows potential discoveries and activities, while an ideology chart tracks the evolving loyalties among players.
