Observatory (engl.)

Beschreibung

Observatory (engl.) is a family game for 1 to 5 players aged 10+ with a playing time of 30-45 minutes. Players map the night sky by rolling dice to plot stars and complete constellation and asterism cards, earning points and bonuses. The game combines strategy and education, offering an engaging experience in astral cartography and research advancement.

The night sky is divided into 88 constellations, which form the basis for additional patterns called asterisms. In this roll-and-write game, you and your fellow astral cartographers map the night sky while discovering fascinating details about each constellation and asterism through the cards.

On your turn, you roll all the dice. The active player uses the larger dice to plot a star, while all players—including the active one—select two smaller dice values as coordinates for their charts and one die for their research value.

Each constellation and asterism card features unique mapping patterns to complete on your grid. Finishing these patterns rewards you with victory points and extra bonus actions. Meanwhile, your research area allows you to spend one die per turn to improve your equipment and unlock funding resources.

The game progresses over a number of rounds depending on the number of players. Final scores are calculated from completed constellations and asterisms, along with any funding acquired through your research hub.
