Raiders of the North Sea: Fields of Fame (Exp.) (engl.) expands the base game by introducing Jarl tokens mixed with Plunder and Valkyrie. Players encounter Jarls during raids and must choose to kill, subdue, or flee, each with different risks and rewards. The expansion adds new strategic layers with Fame and Victory Points gained through overpowered crews and Jarl encounters.

In Raiders of the North Sea: Fields of Fame, rival jarls have united to protect their settlements from relentless raids. Facing these powerful foes is dangerous but offers the promise of great fame. This expansion introduces Jarl tokens mixed with Plunder and Valkyrie cards, adding new challenges and opportunities to the game. When a player takes a set of Plunder containing one or more Jarls, they must reveal which Jarls they encounter from the draw pile. Players can choose to kill the Jarls for Fame and rewards, subdue them to recruit as allies, or flee to avoid injury. Killing or subduing Jarls causes wounds to the player’s crew, while fleeing results in a loss of Fame or Victory Points. Additionally, the Fields of Fame expansion rewards players who raid with especially strong crews. If a crew’s strength surpasses the highest scoring tier for Victory Points, players advance on the Fame Track, gaining extra Victory Points at the end of the game. This new dynamic deepens strategic choices and intensifies the thrill of Viking raids.
