Violet and the Grumpy Nisse (deutsch/engl.)

Description

Violet and the Grumpy Nisse (deutsch/engl.) is a strategy game for 2 players aged 14+ with a playing time of 20-30 minutes. Players take on the roles of Violet and the grumpy Nisse Torech, competing in a tactical trick-taking game where Violet tries to reach the forest's end before sunrise while Torech aims to thwart her progress using card abilities and triggered events.

Violet und der übellaunige Nisse ist ein taktisches Zwei-Personen-Spiel. 

Ein Spieler übernimmt die Rolle Violets, eines abenteuerlustigen jungen Mädchens, das auf der Suche nach Abenteuern und Freundschaft durch die Nacht wandert. Der andere ist Torech, ein übellauniger Nisse, der sich in den Wald zurückgezogen hat und dessen einziges Ziel es ist, Violets Reise unerträglich zu machen. 

Durch das Ausspielen von Karten versucht jeder Spieler, den Gegner zu überlisten. Vergleicht die Werte, setzt die Effekte geschickt ein und verfolgt Violets Fortschritt, während sie ihre Laterne am Leuchten und ihre Ängste unter Kontrolle hält. Torech dagegen beschwört kalte Winde und dunkle Wolken, um Violet zu quälen und ihre Ängste zu schüren. 

Einige der Stellen im Wald lösen Ereignisse aus, die das Spiel entweder für den einen oder den anderen Spieler erschweren können, so dass die Spieler vorsichtig sein müssen, wie sie ihre Karten ausspielen.

Violet and the Grumpy Nisse is an engaging 2-player trick-taking game like no other.

One player is Violet and the other is Torech. Torech tries to prevent Violet from reaching the end of the forest before sunrise, in which case he will win the game. Players will play out one card each and compare their strengths to determine who wins the round, if Violet, then she will progress, otherwise she’ll have to try again.

Some of the spots in the forest will trigger events that can make the game harder for either one or the other player, so players need to be careful in how they play out their cards.

Most cards have a special ability, however, a card's ability is triggered only if it isn't used as a trump (trump is determined by Violet's location on the map).
