A raccoon drags a jack-o-lantern off a porch, a squirrel hoists a bagel up a tree, an opossum strolls into 7/11 and grabs a bag of chips off of the shelf... Varmints are all around us, and I can't get enough of their antics. My name is David, founder of Grubfellow Games, and this game is a way for me to show my love for dumpster-diving critters.
From a design perspective, my priority since day one has been to create a game that is simple and fun with nothing but numbers, and that goal has led us here. Varmints! is intended to be played with all of the card effects, but even the simple "numbers-only" gameplay mode is delightful and suitable for kids as young as 10 (or younger!). Games without effects can take as little as 10-15 minutes, or you can add in all of the tricks play for 30 minutes or more. The intuitive scalability of gameplay options and time commitments ensures that everybody can find a way to enjoy Varmints! in a way that works for them.
